“No violence, no disruptions just smooth voting,” says 52-year-old resident as Ekiti governorship election progresses calmly.
As Ekiti State residents cast their votes to choose their next governor, a sense of calm has prevailed in Ilawe-Ekiti, according to Ojo Adewusi, a 52-year-old physically challenged voter who spoke with reporters on Saturday.
Adewusi described the electoral process in his community as orderly and tranquil, with voters conducting themselves responsibly at polling units across the area.
“Everything is going on smoothly here in Ilawe-Ekiti. There has been no violence or any form of disturbance,” he said, expressing optimism that the peaceful atmosphere would hold until voting concludes and results are announced.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is overseeing the governorship election across all 16 local government areas of the state, with residents turning out to determine who will lead Ekiti for the next four years.
