The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), described by authorities as a non-existent organisation.
Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Adeyemi’s arrest on Wednesday following an oral application by police counsel, Mr. Wisdom Madaki, after the defendant failed to appear in court for his arraignment.
Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.
Although the case was listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, the defendant was absent when the matter was called, despite his counsel, Mr. Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance before the court.
In his submission, the prosecution counsel informed the court that Adeyemi had repeatedly failed to honour court proceedings related to the case.
The court subsequently granted the prosecution’s application and issued a bench warrant directing law enforcement agencies to arrest and produce the defendant before the court.
According to DAILY POST, Adeyemi had also failed to appear before the court on Tuesday for his scheduled arraignment over allegations of certificate forgery, prompting concerns over his continued absence from proceedings.
