Senator Nwoko sends strong message to Nigerian lawyers as he introduces bills to uplift Anioma people, Nigeria to NASS

Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North in the National Assembly has called on lawyers to challenge the system and fight for justice at every available opportunity.

In a post on X, Senator Nwoko insisted that any lawyer who hesitates in taking up crucial brief might not go far in the legal profession. He noted that the calling of lawyers is for advocacy and fighting for the people without fear or favour.

His admonition to lawyers was part of his statement during the investiture ceremony of some lawyers as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) a few weeks ago in Abuja.

His assertion may be why he is vigorously pulling relevant government agencies to ensure the development of the Delta North Senatorial district, a zone he represents in the upper chamber of the national assembly.

Senator Nwoko, who has raised several motions and bills aimed at uplifting living conditions of Nigerians and his constituents, is poised to ensure that lives of his constituents and the generality of Nigerians are improved.

A philanthropist of repute, Senator Nwoko has introduced different life changing programs for his constituents with the objective of boosting their living conditions and opening vista of life opportunities for them.

As an already made man, Nwoko did not go to the Senate for personal benefit but to ensure that what is due to his constituents gets to them as at when due. This he has pursued immediately he stepped his feet in the Senate in June 2023.

As a man with a large heart, he is committed to the overall development of his people. He is also pursuing infrastructure development of his zone. This is why he visited the minister of works, David Umahi, and the director general of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to ensure speedy repair of failed portions of federal roads in his constituency.

Another smart move of the Senator was the recent bill to upgrade the Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba to a federal university of technology. This move was widely applauded by his constituents who hailed him for being a visionary and people oriented leader.

People of Delta North had argued that since Delta North began producing representatives at the National Assembly, no senator has ever made smart and selfless moves as Senator Nwoko had done. Upgrading the federal college of education to university status will boost the standing of Asaba and write his name in gold as the only senator who brought an enduring project to the senatorial district.

Many Deltans, not just his constituents had craved for a federal university in Delta state. The intervention of Senator Ned Nwoko, who has spent just a year and few months in the senate is bringing this to reality. It is now that the people of Delta North have got it right in the election of a senator since 1999.

Majority of right thinking Anioma people are saying this is just the beginning of good things coming to Delta North from their Senator. It is believed that in the coming years, Senator Nwoko will introduce bigger and mouth watering projects that will make the people say ‘we have not found it in this fashion.” Yes, that is true representation. A representation devoid of personal pursuit and self aggrandizement.

His moves, statements, motions and bills all testify to a man who is hell-bent on ensuring good life for all Nigerians, not only his constituents. He believes that it is possible to live a comfortable life in Nigeria, hence he is advocating for ptojects and programs to boost living conditions and make Nigeria people happy.

Being a ready made man, he is not interested in being happy alone, he wants his constituents and as many Nigerians as can be lifted from poverty to be pulled out of the conodrum of poverty and pain. He is pained that many Nigerians are wallowing in poverty and penury. For him, this is not the vision for a greater Nigeria.

He wants good health for all Nigerians. He wants all Nigerians to ply smooth and beautiful roads across the country. Yes, he wants the best of education for all. These and more form the fulcrum of his drive for his constituents and the larger Nigerian populace.

Senator Nwoko, though a first term Senator in the Senate, having served in the house of representatives between 1999 and 2003, stands tall among his colleagues in the red chamber. He is one of the Senators who have presented highest number of motions and bills in the senate.

He is respected among his colleagues. This is why he is always selected to be in most important committees in the Senate. His presence in the Senate and advocacy led to the creation of the Senate committee for reparations and repatriation to move the western world to repair damages done to Nigeria and Africa during the era of slave trade.

So, Anioma people have got the needed representative at the senate and it behoves on all good spirited Anioma sons and daughters to queue behind him to drive the development of Delta North. This is the man we have been waiting for in Delta North. He has the vision, the drive, the connection (national and international) and the political will to serve the people of Delta North.

What Anioma people need at this time is to stand behind him and support his dream. The reason is simple. He has a good mind and his vision is very clear.
