In a major blow to bandit networks terrorizing Nigeria’s Northwest, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 27 kidnap victims and sent terrorists scrambling in a 48-hour blitz across Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Saturday, July 20 – Troops stormed Wanke and Kaura communities in Shagari LGA, Sokoto, after intelligence revealed terrorist activity. When bandits engaged troops at Kaura, superior firepower forced them into chaotic retreat.
Result: 6 hostages freed, livestock recovered, 2 motorcycles seized.
Same day – Security forces at Gandi rescued 10 victims including women and children—who had escaped their captors and were found wandering near Badanma community.
Highway Ambush Crushed
Sunday, July 21 – Terrorists blocked the Gummi-Sokoto road in a bid to abduct commuters. Troops of Combat Team 12 responded to distress calls, engaged the attackers in hot pursuit, and rescued 11 more victims while recovering another motorcycle.
