The National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicines (NAPPMED) has drummed support for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Delta state, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, ahead of the 2023 election.

NAPPMED described the former minister of state for education as the most qualified and experienced to tackle the mirage of problems currently confronting the state.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the largest private investor in the state at his Oginibo country home in Ughelli south local government area of the state, the president, Prince Macauley Ezewu, said the group was poised to deliver victory for the gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

He said: “We are here as the NAPPMED state president to work with our brother for the position he is vying for as the Delta state Governor.

“We are here to put our weights behind him to make sure that our aspiration is achieved. Every of his programmes between now and when the campaigns will end, we want to be part of it to work with him day and night.

“To play our roles as his own people to make sure that we succeed and install him as the governor of the state. Because when he is there as the governor of the state, that is our own.

“So, I urge every MAPPMEDian, every citizen of Delta state to key into this programme so that our aspiration can be achieved”, he declared.

Also speaking, the state secretary, Chief Okobiah A G, said Gbagi has all it takes to address the failures of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) led government.

“We, as members of NAPPMED, have seen that Chief Gbagi is a man that you can trust and that all NAPPMEDians in Delta state, should queue behind him.

“All local government chairmen and secretaries and I as the state secretary, we are going to work with him to become the governor”, he said.

Chief Irikefe Ogbenudia, Ethiope East LGA, Chairman of NAPPMED, assured that the group would be on ground in every local government that the SDP standard bearer would visit for campaigns.

He urged the industrialist to factor them into his campaign train.

“We love to work with you after listening to you, it is clear that when the righteous man is on the throne, the people rejoice.

“We want to queue behind you and stand by you. Our coming here is not just for gainsaying. On behalf of the union, we want to say that we want to work for you. We align with you and your party.

“We will go and preach the gospel like the Jehovah witnesses, we don’t have backbone before now, but now that you are here, NAPPMED would never be the same again.

“We will tell all our members to vote for you so that you will go to government house, Asaba, he noted.

Earlier in his remarks, the former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Olorogun Gbagi, called for their cooperation ahead of the polls.

“Cooperate with yourselves, by the grace of God, I will emerge as the governor.

“Urhobo should determine who becomes their governor, it cannot be business as usual, this NAPPMED, if I takeover as governor I will legitimize it.

“What is worth doing is worth doing well. If NAPPMED in various local governments says this is the direction to go, SDP has won the election.

“You cannot be so much in number and you are not recognize”, he added.

Those present were the State president, Prince Macauley Ezewu, the state secretary, Chief Okobiah A. G, Barr. G. O. Didimako, the Legal Adviser, Mr. Ikoye B.
